Hello everyone.

My name is Shunichi Sato, and I'm in charge of the compost shed at Fujisawa Farm.

The rainy season is soon approaching.

During this season, there are many rainy days, so rainwater

We went into the pigpen manure collection pit to prepare compost.

It will be difficult to insert the components.

We have to be especially careful when loading the components.

This machine, called Compo, is used to process the feces from pig farms.

Put it in the machine and let it ferment in the machine.

This is a machine that makes smooth organic compost.

However, if the manure has a high moisture content, it will not ferment well in the machine.

In severe cases, lumps may form inside the

It's not smooth and is still sticky.

They sometimes come out.

In that case, the temperature is kept high to promote fermentation.

The temperature inside the machine becomes lower and the fermentation process becomes worse.

The condition of the organic compost inside the machine is getting worse and worse.

Furthermore, if the compost inside is in poor condition, the machine will be put under even more strain.

This leads to a vicious cycle in which the machine itself breaks down.

Therefore, during rainy seasons, we have to be very careful about adjusting the moisture content of the feces.

I mixed loose compost with manure to adjust the moisture.

This will harden the feces to a certain extent so that it can be dumped.

However, when the rain is heavy or lasts for a long time,

We collect rainwater with a vacuum truck and process it in a septic tank on the farm.

Sometimes you can receive it.

On rainy days, I was able to do my own work with the help of the team on the farm.

I can't thank everyone at the farm enough for doing such a great job.

The compost shed is subject to the effects of nature like this.

When the compost management goes well and smooth compost comes out

This gives a sense of accomplishment.

It is also used as compost, creating a virtuous cycle for the disposal of raw manure on farms.

We study the profound phenomenon of fermentation every day to produce high-quality

I will try my best to continue making compost.
