The chickens that I raise and care for also have their mouths open because of the heat.

By the way, this behavior is a way for chickens to lower their body temperature by opening their mouths and breathing, because they cannot regulate their body temperature by sweating.

When the heat becomes too intense, some birds will suffer from heatstroke and die, just like humans. Especially since they have thick feathers...

This year, in order to reduce deaths from heatstroke, we first installed shade curtains in the outdoor pastures, just like last year!

Since we installed the shade curtain, the chickens, who rarely came out during the day due to the heat, have started to cool off under it.

In addition, we have installed industrial fans and other similar equipment in the past, but this year we installed larger fans to provide an even cooler breeze!

After placing the large fans mentioned above in each room, most of the rooms were now receiving the breeze from these fans, and I feel that the conditions are more comfortable than last year.

(It has both wings raised to receive the cool breeze all over its body!)

We don't know whether the heat will subside or if it will get even more difficult, but we will continue to take good care of the chickens so that we can provide them with a comfortable life and help them lay delicious eggs.
