Hello everyone! My name is Nemoto and I work at Kurokinosawa Farm in the pig farming division.

This time, I would like to talk a little about the 5S activities that I regularly carry out, what I do, and what I am conscious of.

Some of you may be wondering, "What is 5S activity?" I would like to explain it a little bit.

5S is an abbreviation of the five initials of the words "organize, set in order, shine, standardize, and sustain," and is called 5S activity.

The cleaning and tidying up that we do on a regular basis can also be considered part of 5S activities.

At ARK, we set a theme each month in addition to the regular cleaning, and everyone works together to clean areas they don't normally clean and put things in their designated places.

One thing we particularly focus on is keeping things in their fixed locations.

Have you ever had the experience of not being able to find something in the place where it is usually kept, and having to spend a lot of time looking for it or having trouble finding it?

Searching for something while feeling disappointed because it should normally be there takes time and can be quite depressing.

If we were to do this at work, the time spent searching would be wasted effort, and in our case it would affect the time we could spend caring for the pigs.

If you take less care of your pigs, you will miss out on the opportunity to produce delicious meat.

Therefore, I always make sure to return things I use regularly to their original locations, and if I realize that the placement of things is not efficient, I rearrange them to their original locations.

If you take the time to think about whether the designated locations of things in your home are efficient, you may find that your personal life becomes easier.
