Kumi Miyagawa (pianist) is from Yokosuka City. After graduating from the Tokyo University of the Arts Faculty of Music High School, she graduated from the piano department of the same university. She went to Canada to study under Ronald Turini, a pianist in the lineage of V. Horowitz, and honed her skills for about 18 years. After performing both in Japan and abroad, she has gained international recognition, including an invitation to the Merano Music Festival in Italy. Since returning to Japan in 2010, she has been based at the Steinway Salon in Kanazawa Hakkei, developing unique projects such as the "Hakkei Monogatari" series, and has been well-received for her performances that get to the heart of the works. For more than 20 years, she has also continued to give concerts and master classes in various Central American countries, contributing to the development of local musical culture. She also teaches the next generation of pianists at the same salon.
