My name is Yuri Sato of Fujisawa Farm, and this is my 15th summer since I started pig farming.
This time I would like to write about how pigs can survive the heat.
I'm often asked by many people, "Isn't it hot?"
There are different measures for farrowing, breeding pigs, weaning, and fattening.
I think it's still cooler in the pig breeding barn that I'm in charge of (probably).

By installing a large fan like this, it becomes easier for the air to circulate.
I forgot to take a picture, but water was seeping out of the "cool cell" wall.
The breeze that blows in from there is so cool that even people stop to cool off (laughs).
In addition, there are about 30 individual enclosures for the pigs.
When there are only a few animals, we space them out so they can stay cool and relax.
doing.
Summer has only just begun, but I hope to get through this year somehow!
Let's do our best, cute pigs ♡
