About the state of vegetables in winter

The vegetables planted in early winter are growing little by little, and the number of crops that can be harvested is gradually increasing. In winter, when growth is slower than in the warm seasons, it is essential to take measures against pests.

The vegetable weevil, a representative winter pest, gets into vegetables to keep warm, and grows and raises its young while eating the vegetables inside. Mizuna, Komatsuna, etc. become ripped apart from the inside.
Vegetable weevils can be easily dealt with by using pesticides, but for us who are promoting the non-use of pesticides, they are a natural enemy in winter. We take measures by hanging insect netting to prevent adult weevils from entering, but we are still unable to deal with those that emerge from the soil, and this remains an annual issue.

We have also installed aphid tape to protect against aphids. This has been extremely effective, and we expect to be able to ship our lettuce, chrysanthemum, and other crops in good condition this year as well.

We will continue to work hard to provide beautiful, delicious and safe vegetables.
