Hello!
This is Mizuguchi from the Pig Farming Division. This time I would like to introduce you to Farm HACCP and JGAP!

First of all, has anyone ever heard of the word HACCP?

What is HACCP?
Hazard
Analysis
Critical
Control
Point
It is an initial of .

In other words, it is a hygiene management technique in which hazards that may occur during food manufacturing and processing (such as food poisoning) are analyzed in advance (Hazard Analysis), and Critical Control Points (CPCs) are determined that indicate at what stage and how measures should be taken to prevent the possibility of hazards occurring, thereby ensuring product safety.

The farm version of this, which targets the production process of livestock and eggs for consumption, is called "Farm HACCP."

Our pig farming division and poultry farming division have obtained HACCP certification for this farm.
In the pig farming division where I work, we work to keep the pigs that will become meat safe from the time they are born until they are shipped to the slaughterhouse, so that we can deliver pork that customers can eat with peace of mind.

Next, what is JGAP?

It is an abbreviation for Japan Good Agriculture Practices. It refers to the efforts in the overall production process management related to agricultural production, such as the burden that the livestock industry places on the environment, safety management of farm workers, and labor systems.

HACCP was an initiative to maintain the safety of meat, but JGAP is not just an initiative to ensure meat safety, but also to protect the environment and ensure occupational safety!

Focusing on occupational safety, there are tasks in meat production that could cause injury to producers. For example, when checking inside a tank containing feed, it is possible to fall from a height and be injured. The risk of injury can be reduced by wearing safety equipment.

JGAP's approach is to prepare in advance to reduce the anticipated risks mentioned above.

This is a simple explanation of farm HACCP and JGAP.

We will continue to work on our farm's HACCP and JGAP standards, and provide our customers with meat that they can eat safely without risking injury!
