Hello. I am Yasuomi Arakawa from the Pig Farming Division, Hanaizumi Farm.
My second year, when I was assigned to teach juniors for the first time, is coming to an end, and I am now entering my third year. I feel that I need to think again about how I have grown in the past two years, and how I need to grow in the future.
The biggest challenge for me with my direct subordinates was conveying information accurately and reliably. Things that were obvious to me were incomprehensible to my juniors who knew nothing about them, so I spent every day trying to figure out how to convey them so they would understand. As I spent my days like this, I felt that in order to convey something, I needed to improve my own understanding of the subject. In fact, it was very difficult to convey things that I was unclear about. However, I think that if I can convey something accurately, it will help me improve my knowledge while reviewing it. Also, I may be able to make new discoveries from casual questions from my juniors. Over the past year, I have learned that by mentoring my juniors and growing together with them, it will also lead to raising the overall level of the team.
And, one thing I want to be especially careful about in the future is that juniors look at the words and actions of their seniors more than they think. I think that, as was the case with me, most of the people who serve as a guide for juniors are their direct seniors. I want to reexamine my own behavior and work hard to become a cool senior.
Even though I'm now a senior, I'm still in my third year. I still have a lot to learn and I think I have a lot of room to grow. I want to keep climbing up the ranks with a super positive attitude, without setting limits for myself.
